White Mountain is, as the name suggests, a white crag which pops out from the rice fields with circa 35 routes and a great potential for many harder additions. This is probably the most interesting crag in the area, thanks in part due to its ease of access and routes of all difficulties. The crag faces south and receives the sun all day long. Since it overhangs 15°, climbing is possible in light rain.
Access
Reach White Mountain by using one of the many taxis or cycle directly from the center of Yangshuo. For detailed information we recommend you buy "Yangshuo, Rock Climbing" by Paul Collis. This guidebook contains all the crags, topos and access maps. Period
Yangshuo is located in the Guanxi province and has a subtropical climate. Although climbing is possible all year round, the best time of year is either spring or autumn. Climb
The rock quality is excellent and the routes vary from technical crimp fests to athletic corners and long stamina routes on small edges and rounded pockets. The wall is circa 200m wide and the central section is almost 60m high. Most routes are between 25m - 30m long. Notes
All routes are well bolted but not all are equipped with a lower-off carabiner. Always take a screwgate carabiner and some additional quickdraws for the lower-off manoeuvre.

Yangshuo Climbing Festival
The first Yangshuo Climbing Festival took place in October 2008 and the successful international event will be repeated from 13 - 15 November 2009.
The goal of the festival is to promote the sport of rock climbing and a sense of community among climbers throughout China in a fun, friendly, casual atmosphere. The festival organizers will donate a significant portion of proceeds raised through a modest entry fee back into the local Yangshuo schools in an effort to encourage a long-term collaborative partnership between climbers and the local community.
