Karpos – We are skimountaineers

We experience their verticality with the naturalness of a trapeze artist spinning above the heads of the audience. We feel at home up there. We hungrily devour the meters as we climb, and we hold our breath as we fly down the descents that lead us back to the valley. Effort, sweat, chills. These are all sensations that we feel on our skin and that create in our hearts a clear, pure passion. The same passion that drives us to experience these unspoiled places without skis and skins. Perhaps with helmets, ropes, carabiners and friends. Sometimes with our mountain bikes or running, connecting peaks and trails that seemed to be only for backpackers. Sometimes we find ourselves at dusk, looking at this miracle of color and shadow over the sheer Alpine faces as the light gradually dims.
