The best ski-mountaineers in the world are all CAMP athletes: men and women that arrived in Premana in the past days to visit the company that produce their competition and training products. Not only helmets and packs but also ice axes and crampons, harnesses and gloves, jackets and accessories. The event was organized to meet the athletes before the start of the new race season and was a great success, with the presence of Robert Antonioli, Michele Boscacci, Matteo Eydallin, Luca Faifer, Davide Galizzi, Lorenzo Holzknecht, Federico Nicolini and Manfred Reichegger. And of course there were also our ski-alp girls: Alessandra Cazzanelli, Elena Nicolini, Katia Tomatis and Martina Valmassoi. It is impossible to remember all their victories, podiums and great placements: the list of their world and national titles, but also successes in legendary races as Pierra Menta and Mezzalama Trophy, can take up pages and pages.
CAMP staff presented the long history of C.A.M.P. to the athletes: a company that produces the lightest and most functional mountain equipment since 1889, taking great attention to ski-mountaineering. The reason is that in Premana, where C.A.M.P. is based from its foundation, ski-mountaineering is a sort of “national sport”, a passion of many people: enthusiasts that wait winter to ascend and descent with skis the mountains of the valley. And don’t forget he “Pizzo dei Tre Signori”, the annual ski-mountaineering race organized by Premana Sport Club that CAMP athletes appreciate very much winning several editions.
It was very interesting for our champions to see how their products were designed, realized and tested. They visited all company departments, knowing the long and complex work that has to be done to produce a perfect crampon or the superlight Alp Racing harness, that is specific for ski-mountaineering weighting only 92 grams but it is also amazingly strong. And of course athletes gave feedback and specific requests to C.A.M.P. designers, to allow them to realize even better new products with unique features suggested by the best ski-mountaineers.
The day ended with an appreciate conference by Robert Antonioli, Michele Boscacci, Matteo Eydallin and Manfred Reichegger that presented to many enthusiasts some exciting videos and images of their last successes.
