Let’s all meet from 4 to 7 July in Chamonix, once again acclaimed as the international mountaineering mecca: over that period, at the foot of Mont Blanc, the Arc’teryx Alpine Academy will take place, a unique gathering with hundreds of enthusiasts and professionals from over 30 countries. Already a partner of the Arc’teryx Alpine Academy across the Atlantic, C.A.M.P. will be a protagonist in this European edition, as well, in a prestigious rope-partnership with the clothing brand, which stands for the utmost quality. «Working together with Arc'teryx – explains Marco Gianola of the C.A.M.P. International Sales Manager Outdoor Division – gives us great satisfaction. Our excellence, stemming from a mountain hamlet in the heart of the Central Alps, met with the one of the British Columbia company, where some of the prettiest and most difficult peaks in the Rockies rise. In such conditions, Mont Blanc being the meeting point is simply unique: not only is this the highest peak in Europe, but also a symbol, the place where mountaineering got off the ground». ACTIVITY WITH CAMP PRODUCTS  Now in its 8th year, the Arc’teryx Alpine Academy will offer the chance to meet new people, to exchange experiences and learn new skills. Participants will attend clinics, held by 120 mountain guides and 30 professional athletes. The clinics will be devoted to several activities (classic mountaineering, ice climbing, ski mountaineering, climbing, bouldering, hiking, trail running, photography and safety) and are conceived to meet the demands of enthusiasts at every level, who will be able to test CAMP and CASSIN gear (ice axes, crampons, helmets, harnesses, quickdraws, carabiners, ascenders). There will also be meetings on glaciology, flora and fauna, how to equip a route and maintain paths, aiming at raising awareness on the alpine environment and how to respect it. THE CAMP-CASSIN CLINICS Among the several clinics, whose details will be announced on 6 March, we reveal that there will be the CAMP-CASSIN Ice Climbing Basic Skills and the CAMP-CASSIN Multi-Pitch Rock Climbing ones. The former, taking place on the Mer de Glace crevasse walls, is a thorough introduction to the ice climbing world: the participants will be taught how to advance on steeper faces, how to use crampons and ice-axes, how to put in and remove an ice screw, how to put an Abalakov in place and how to best belay your rope partner. The second clinic is conceived for anyone wanting to improve multi-pitch climbing: it will talk about route choice, how to make the most of a route description, what gear to bring, how to rappel and organise belays. Both clinics are extremely interesting and useful and will give attendees the chance to test the excellent level of CAMP and CASSIN gear. SEE YOU AT THE ALPINE VILLAGE! The Arc'teryx Alpine Academy is a proper festival with conferences, film screenings, live music and bouldering. The heart of the event will be the Arc’teryx Alpine Village, set up in Place du Triangle in Chamonix, where C.A.M.P. will be on site to hand out the gear to participants. Are you on board? Stop press: places are limited and a proper, worldwide gold rush will start at 3 pm (GMT+1) on 20th March, when the registrations open. Do not miss this chance: save the date and sign up as soon as possible! A second round of inscriptions will take place on 17 April at 2 pm GMT. Let’s be social!
