Cima Le Sorti is one of the few south-facing offpiste descents. Which translates into: pure fun with good snow and low temperatures, slush when the temperature rises! Here are two itineraries, the first is better suited to skiers seeing that you have to push a fair bit to reach Bocchetta Bleis. The second, better suited to snowboarders, is slightly shorter and takes a long diagonal line beneath Cima le Sorti to join up with the preceding itinerary.
Getting there
Car
From Trento - motorway A22 (Brennero/Modena) north towards the Brennero, exit at S.Michele all'Adige; continue along the SS43 towards Passo Tonale to the bridge at Mostizzolo (4 km after Cles), then turn onto the SS42 and continue to Passo Tonale (motorway - Passo Tonale 90km).
From Milan - motorway A4 (Milano/Venezia) east towards Venezia, exit at Ospitaletto; continue along the SP19 towards Valle Camonica, at Rodengo Saiano take the SP510 and continue to Piancamuno. From here take the SS42 towards Passo Tonale (Milano - Pontedilegno 180km).
Train
From Trento - take the train to Malè (Ferrovie Trento Malè), then continue by bus to Passo Tonale.
From Milano - take the train to Brescia (Ferrovie dello Stato), change here for Edolo (Ferrovie Nord di Milano). At Edolo continue by bus to Passo del Tonale. Access
At Paso del Tonale (1883m), park the car at Telecabina Paradiso. Ski down the Tonalina piste to the Nigritella chairlift. Take this and then the next one to reach Capanna Bleis (2494m). Itinerary
Cima Le Sorti skiing:
From the top of the Bleis chairlift head towards the Alpino piste. After a few meters cross the slope to the the right of the piste, by ascending slightly. Cut through the upper bowl towards Bocchetta Bleis (2458m). Usually the last meters are carried out on foot, by following the summer path. Strap your skis on again and ski along the left-hand side of the ridge, southwards. At the end of the ridge descend down the wide open slope which channels into a pine forest and the SS42 road. Cross this close to two mountain huts and return via the Pegra piste to the mid-station (1634m)
Cima Le Sorti snowboard:
From the top of the Bleis chairlift ki towards the Alpino piste. After circa 100m begin the long diagonal descent rightwards. Pass above Malga Serodine and traverse across the SE slope of Cima Le Sorti to reach the preceding itinerary and the wide open slope. Notes
