The Fontanazzo icefall can be seen clearly from the road, is easy to get to and has two characteristic steep sections, one on the second pitch and one on the final pitch. If the drip on the second pitch isn't in condition then you can traverse to the left, scramble up through the forest and then return to the route.
Getting there
From the A22 motorway Modena-Brennero exit at Egna-Ora. Follow signs for Val di Fiemme, then Val di Fassa. After Moena continue towards Canazei, from Fontanazzo follow signs for the bakery Pasticceria Fassana and park here. Access
Cross the bridge and keep left. After the river bed ascend right and quickly reach the icefall. Descent
