Back in 1998, Arc’teryx launched their first outerwear piece, the Alpha SV Jacket. It went on to revolutionise the outdoor industry and remains a flagship piece for the brand. A proven performer in severe alpine conditions, and built to withstand years of use, its quality and durability are legendary. But obsession keeps the Arc’teryx design team pushing forwards and, working closely with GORE, they have now created the strongest Alpha SV ever. Redesigned for Fall 2020, the latest version of the Alpha SV ascends to another level with the introduction of a brand new fabric technology from GORE-TEX.

Arc’teryx has worked exclusively with GORE-TEX since the launch of their outerwear line and remains committed to the partnership because their products are the most durable on the market. Using more durable face fabrics and leveraging a new membrane that better resists abrasion and contamination, it delivers serious storm protection for a seriously long time.
THE RESULT OF OBSESSIVE DESIGN
At Arc’teryx, design is an obsession that never takes a break. Refinement and evolution drive the product teams, who push themselves to make each product even better. In addition to the use of GORE-TEX PRO with Most Rugged Technology, the updated Alpha SV sees some subtle, but important, changes for Fall 2020. RECCO® locator technology is now built in. Simple, effective, and virtually unnoticeable until needed, the embedded RECCO® reflector is a lightweight transponder that makes the wearer searchable to over 700 Search-And-Rescue organisations around the world. The StormHoodTM has been redesigned to fit better over today’s helmets and, thanks to the new GORE-TEX technology, no longer requires a patch to protect the laminate, so the hood is more comfortable and moves more easily with the head. Existing technologies like the iconic WaterTightTM zippers, minimised seams, combine with the new in a revised fit optimised for alpine adventure.
