Aprica, 20 October 2001. The third stage of the World Cup 2001 was won on Saturday by Tomáz Mrazek and Muriel Sarkany.

Above all though it was marked by the fearsome trio of under 20’s, Mrazek, Pouvreau and Chabot, who took first, second and third respectively, leaving the rest of the field in their wake. Flavio Crespi placed 4th, F. Petit 5th, Julián 6th, Wandeler 7th, Kazbekov and Lagni 9th in a tricky final through the large horizontal roof.

A Superfinal was needed to separate Muriel Sarkany from Sandrine Levet, won in the end by the Belgian. Martina Cufar placed an unlucky third, excluded from the Superfinal as she ran out of time reaching the top in the Final. Minoret placed 4th, ahead of Jenny Lavarda 5th, Schöpf 6th, Schultz 7th and Gros 8th.

Malaysia will host the next stage of the UIAA Worldcup, set for 2-4 November in Kuala Lumpur.
