Mauro Calibani and Myriam Motteau win the Bouldering World Championship, while Gérome Pouvreau and Martina Cufar win the Difficulty

Boulder

The Italian Mauro Calibani is the new Bouldering World Champion! Or rather, the first ever Bouldering World Champion. He literally dominated the competition, sending all six boulders. The Frenchman Frédéric Tuscan placed second, while Calibani’s compatriot Christian Core placed third.

The women’s bouldering title went to Myriam Motteau from France, who beat Sandrine Levet, second, and Natalia Perlova from the Ukraine.

Difficulty
The Men’s Difficulty was won by newcomer Gérome Pouvreau, the 18 year-old Frenchman who had already made a name for himself in the European Youth Cup. Tomás Mrazek from the Czech Republik reached Pouvreau’s highpoint – split by just the Semi-Final result he placed second, while François Petit from France placed third.

Martina Cufar from Slovenia won the Women’s Difficulty, ahead of Muriel Sarkany from Belgium and Chloé Minoret from France, second and third respectively.
