Andorra Vallnord Ultra Trail 2015

The Andorra Ultra Trail Vallnord will take place from 25 - 28 June 2015. Four days with 4 important mountain running competitions: Ronda dels Cims (170 km, 13,500 m D+), Mitic (112 km, 9,700 m D+), Celestrail (83 km, 5,000 m D+) and Marató dels Cims (42,5 km, 3,000 m D+). For those who want to discover the wild beauty of these mountains at a slower place, there’re the Solidaritrail, a 10km, 750m+ walk open to all. Athletes from 34 different countries have already registered for the prestigious Ronda dels Cims, for which 40 additional places are now available.

With just over five months to go until the event, preparations are beginning to get underway for the race, both for the 400 volunteers who will collaborate in the event and all of those who will travel to Andorra the weekend of June 25th to 28th to enjoy, once again, a great trail running adventure.

Registration for the Andorra Vallnord Ultra Trail is proceeding at a good pace. The 400 dorsal numbers available for the legendary Ronda dels Cims (170km, 13,500m D+) have been sold out for weeks. Having reviewed registration sheets and rejecting those that did not meet the requirements, and some cancellations, registration for 40 additional dorsal numbers has now been made available.

34 countries in the most international race ever
Once again, the Andorra Vallnord Ultra Trail will become an international event attended by runners from up to 34 countries. While the Andorran, Spanish and French are still a majority, the number of nationalities is growing increasingly. Runners from the USA, England, the Czech Republic, Italy, Poland or Portugal have always been present in the race. However, trail runners from countries where trail is not a popular sport such as China, Mexico, Ireland, Uruguay, Turkey, Russia and New Zealand among others, will also take part in some of the races this year.

‘It is an honour to welcome runners from so many different places in the world coming to discover the mountains of our country,’ said Gerard Martinez, director of the race.

Núria Picas confirms her participation in Marató dels Cims
Dorsal numbers for the other races are also gradually being allocated. The 750 places for the Marató dels Cims are going well. Núria Picas, ultratrail world champion, has confirmed her presence to the race, that this year will be part of the SkyRunner® National Series of Andorra, Spain and Portugal.

The Mític (112km, 9,700m D+) is also part of the SkyRunner® National Series and, so far, Zigor Iturrieta, winner of Camí de Cavalls in Menorca 2014 and Transgrancanaria in 2011 and third in Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc in 2010, has already confirmed his attendance. Registration for all the races will be open until late May or until available places are sold out.
