In September 2018 the first-ever Women's Bouldering Festival was organized in Fontainebleau, France, with the aim of bringing together women to exchange experiences around bouldering and learn from another.

Almost 100 women took part in the meeting, leaving event organiser Zofia Reych with some powerful lasting memories "… seeing so many women together, some on the rocks, some spotting, some stretching or just chatting and having snacks, it was an incredible moment. My eyes totally watered because the first reason to create this event was simply to bring more women into the Forest of Fontainebleau. It's so common that you go to the crag and it's only men around, no females to relate to, look up to, share our experience and learn from. Of course there's nothing wrong with sharing these things with guys too and we can be inspired by each other regardless of gender, but there's something special about seeing people you really can relate to and identify with. Women bring so much good into the community and we just wanted to see more of them here. Seeing Elephant practically taken over by a 100 women, that was something incredible and really powerful."

The next Festival will take place from 28-29/09/2019. For all information check out www.womensbouldering.com
