Video: Soudain Seul, Simon Lorenzi's 9A at Fontainebleau

The video of the first ascent of 'Soudain Seul', the hardest boulder problem at Fontainebleau in France established by Simon Lorenzi in February 2021.

At the start of 2021 Belgium's Simon Lorenzi checked in with the coveted first ascent of Soudain Seul, one of the last great problems at Fontainebleau in France. At the taime Lorenzi suggested 9A for the sit start to Dave Graham's Big island, making it only the second problem in the world of these difficulties after Burden of Dreams put up in 2016 by Nalle Hukkataival.

Soudain Seul was later repeated by Nico Pelorson who suggested a downgrade to 8C+, while Camille Coudert confirmed the original 9A suggestion.Although it's still too early to reach a consensus, one thing is blindingly obvious: it's an awesome problem. Lorenzi's journey has been documented in all its minute details in this insightful documentary by Gilles Charlier.
