Those who read planetmountain.com regularly know that we have a special relationship with the slate mines above Llanberis, the small town located within the Snowdonia National Park in Wales. Perhaps it's because of its particular, unique climbing, or because of its history and all those crags hidden in the labyrinthian, empty belly of the hill above the lake... the fact of the matter is that the Dinorwig quarries are truly special. As is The Mau Mau, the route situated opposite the famous Rainbow Slab and climbed for the first time by Paul Williams back in 1986. One of those irresistible lines, apparently easy but which, the higher you get, reveal their true "bite". As British boulderer Leah Crane discovered, here in this video with one of Britain's strongest climbers, Steve McClure.
