Here’s another example of an excellent young Italian climber: after reporting about 16-year-old Matteo Menardi earlier today, it’s now time to check in on 19-year-old Riccardo Piazza who’s just made the first repeat of Ultimo dei Moicani, the 8B+ boulder problem at Amiata freed in January 2012 by Michele Caminati.

Piazza trains regularly at the local Metropolitan Boulder gym in Perugia and often climbs on the sandstone outcrops at Interprete and Meschia. This is is first 8B+ and comes about after having sent a couple of 8A such as Fagaff le Puffado and Paul Simon. To send this "fantastic line with delicate reach and strange heelhook" Piazza needed just 4 sessions.
