Nina Caprez and Eline Le Menestrel climbing The Nose, El Capitan
This video is different from most and maybe that's why it caught our attention. It documents the first time on a big wall for Eline Le Menestrel. The route the Frenchwoman has cut her teeth on is none other than The Nose on El Capitan in Yosemite. In order to do she, she teamed up with an exceptional climbing partner, switzerland’s Nina Caprez who was in the valley in autumn in order to repeat the monumental climb freed back in 1993 by America’s Lynn Hill. Although Caprez didn’t succeed, the three days on the wall with Eline were "by far the best finish of my trip to Yosemite."
Here is their vision, fresh and fun, of their ascent. And yes, if you're wondering, Eline is the daughter of highly talented Marc le Menestrel who played a fundamental role in the development of this sport in the early ‘80s.
