Young and talented Italian climber Luca Bana celebrated his birthday with by climbing a beautiful route with a special name, Bava lucente di lumaca, an 8a at the crag Nasolino. What else can I add, apart from the fact that he sent the route on January 3, the day of his 17th birthday?

Luca loves climbing outdoors and is making short work of the hardest routes in Valle Seriana and Valle Brembana. His climbing is great to watch, easy-going and relaxed, and he doesn’t prefer one particular style of climbing but likes everything: overhangs, slabs... This year he’ll take part in the Italian climbing competitions and demonstrate his talent.

As to Nasolino, this beautiful crag is located in Valle Seriana, wedged into a beautiful natural inserted in rural setting. Facing SE, it gets plenty of sun and has a wonderful view onto the entire valley below. The climbing is never straightforward: smooth slabs and tufas, bolted superbly and reequipped in recent years. The first routes were put up by by Franco Bonetti, Vinicio Fiorina, Leo Guerini e Daniele Mazzucchini. The latter is the first ascentionist of the beautiful route climbed by Luca who was belayed by Daniele’s son, Nicola. And it is thanks to Nicola, to Mauro Gibellini and Diego Jim Pezzoli that a few new routes were added recently.

For those who had never been to Nasolino I assure you it’s worth a visit, the rock quality is outstanding, the ground at the base of the crag ideal and the view spectacular... and for those who want to, there’s still a route that needs freeing: Albatros, in my opinion no walkover…
