Laura Rogora relentless at Mišja Peč in Slovenia

At Mišja Peč in Slovenia the Italian climber Laura Rogora has made short work of two reference 9a's, 'Sanjski par extension' and 'Martin Krpan'.

Laura Rogora has celebrated the new year with a bang at Mišja Peč where, on her first-ever visit to this historic Slovenian crag, she sent two reference 9a's: Sanjski par extension and Martin Krpan.

The routes are located on two opposite sides of the crag and couldn't be more different: while Sanjski par extension is short and practically horizontal, Martin Krpan is long, steep test of power and resistance. The 23-year-old climber from Rome sent Sanjski par ext on 31 December 2024 and Martin Krpan a day later in just four attempts, two of which the previous day.

It's possible that we'll be hearing more of her in the near future, given that she's planning on staying at Misja for a few more days. Her goals could be Vicious Circle (9a+/b) established by Adam Ondra in 2016, or Xaxid hostel (9a) freed by Tomáš Mrázek in 2009. Time will tell.
