A strong team of Slovenian climbers comprised of Klemen Bečan, Mina Markovič, Anja Bečan and Luka Fonda has had a successful winter trip to Jordan. After teaming up with the locals Hakim Tamimi, Marwan Maayta, Eisa Dweekat and their Beduin guide Suleman, they spent just over a fortnight climbing at Wadi Rum and Ajloun in the north of the country.

The team spent most of the trip at Wadi Rum "a climbers paradise" wrote Bečan on his blog, adding "huge sandstone towers offer numerous different kind of trad, sports, crack, slabs multi or single pitch routes." The climber repeated numerous routes and added some new climbs including Wadirumela, a spectacular 8b+ slab described by Bečan as "one of the best routes I have ever climbed. You really must know how to climb if you wanna get to the top. Only power or technique will get you nowhere. You also need some imagination."

The second part of the trip concentrated on the area around Ajloun in the north of the country where they developed a small new crag called Araq Damaj. Two sectors, one facing south and the other north, with 8 new routes from 7a to a 9a project, as well as "Same same but different. 25m high and graded 8c, this is now the hardest sport climb in Jordan.
