When we first talked about this route a fortnight ago, we admitted that we don’t usually report about "work in progress" regarding sport climbs, but that this line in the making has all the hallmarks of being somethign absolutely unique. New details have now emerged about the route Edu Marin is currently forging in the Gétû valley in China: the new climb ascends one side of huge arch before traversing across the entire roof and exiting up the other side of the "tunnel".

Marin’s Valhalla project tackles almost 400m of overhanging terrain, much of which completely horizontal, was established ground-up, does not cross any existing lines and still awaits its first free ascent. Unsurprisingly, the Spaniard has described the outing as “the largest roof in the world and one of the most beautiful lines ever.”
