Christian Bindhammer repeats Kinematix 9a
Christian Bindhammer has repeated Kinematix 9a, Gorges du Loup, France.
Christian Bindhammer on top form in 2005! After a strong start in early spring Bindhammer made three hard first ascents at Rottachberg (Allgäu, S. Germany), namely "Illuminat" 8c+, "Sakrileg" 8c+ and "Kreuzritter" 8c, before repeating "Peter und der Wolf" 8c (Starzlachklamm). He then moved west to the Basler Jura where in just 4 days he repeated two of Switzerlands most famous sport routes, the classic "Ravage" (Antoine Le Menestrel, 1986) and "Enfant de Boheme" (Fred Nicole, 1996) at Chuenisberg. Christian felt both to be 8c and commented "Both routes are shrouded in history and character, so I was really motivated. These routes really get me going." The non-plus-ultra in Bindhammers 2005 ticklist so far is without a doubt his recent repeat of "Kinematix", his fourth and, as he puts it, mentally hardest 9a. Bad weather initally hampered play, but at the end of September Christian finally sent the 42 move problem at the French Gorges du Loup, first ascended by... his brother Andeas in 2001.
