On 15 July Chris Sharma made the first ascent of "Three degrees of seperation", a possible 9a at the Biografie sector in Ceuse, France.

The new route lies to the right of Sharma's 2001 creation Realisation and, unlike this stamina testpiece, is comprised of three mammoth dynos. A weaving line had originally been bolted long ago by Arnaud Petit but Sharma rebolted a direct version and, after two weeks of working the beta together with Dave Graham, sent the route. Although the dynos make grading hard, general consensus seems to go for something in the region of 9a.

Chris has now bolted a new line up a blue water streak to the left of Realisation. "Futuristic, but possible" was his comment. Stay tuned... and in the meantime check out the full report and brief video clip on www.bigupproductions.com
