At one of the leading international industry trade shows, the OutDoor in Friedrichshafen, Mammut has won an OutDoor INDUSTRY AWARD 2018 in the footwear category: The lightweight mountaineering boot Taiss Light Mid GTX won the prestige award. The roots of the Swiss outdoor company Mammut date back to 1862. From a small rope manufacturer, Mammut has transformed into one of the world’s leading mountain sports brands. Based on more than 155 years of experience, Mammut provides highly technical, lightweight and functional equipment for your mountaineering performance – including mountaineering boots that bring outdoor enthusiasts closer to the summit. Mammut’s modern mountaineering boot Taiss Light is crampon-compatible and very precise. The boot meets the full spectrum of requirements for expeditions in snow and ice, on exposed rock faces and ascents over boulders and grass.

New mountaineering boot Mammut Taiss Light for multipitch rock climbing, via ferrata, classical alpinism, mixed and ice climbing

“We all feel honored, that Mammut won an Outdoor INDUSTRY AWARD with this extraordinary and innovative product. The Taiss light represents a new generation of mountaineering boots since it combines state-of-the-art materials and technologies as well as premium workmanship. Awards like this underline that Mammut is a leading outdoor brand from head to toe,” commented Adrian Margelist, Chief Creative Officer of the Mammut Sports Group AG. In alpine terrain, Mammut places a great importance on a low weight and lasting durability combined with high performance. The boot meets this requirements with perfectly matched materials and technologies. Two of these technologies – Contact Control® and Vibram® Litebase – ensure an optimum balance between lightness, durability and performance. Less weight – enhanced performance: With 555 grams the Taiss Light Mid GTX is one of the lightest crampon-compatible mountaineering boot ever made. Not only is the Taiss Light Mid GTX a lightweight high-performance boot, the OutDoor INDUSTRY AWARD winner also convinces with its high level of comfort. Thanks to the Mammut® Georganic 3D Technology TM, the three-dimensional cut of the boot has been developed directly on the foot. This gives the boot a natural fit and enhanced comfort – ideal for multipitch rock climbing, via ferrata, classical alpinism, mixed and ice climbing. The Contact Control® technology supports the goal of reducing weight by integrating the carbon midsole element in the cushioning wedge. At the same time, Contact Control provides a more sure-footed step and more precise climbing. The Vibram® Litebase technology reduces weight as far as possible and produces the rubber base of the sole in a unique process. Two rubber plates are vulcanized with a textile fabric. This stabilizes the rubber sole and reduces it to a minimum. WEB: www.mammut.ch
