Originating in Germany in 2007, this very successful format today offers running enthusiasts, a unique and unusual race, inviting participants to race over sixteen different but equally demanding types of obstacles. In addition to having trained muscles and lungs, another prerequisite to participate in the event is the desire to have fun. Runners can actually show up at the starting line in the most bizarre fancy dress costumes, to enjoy an exciting day in which the important thing is not winning but taking part. In Italy, over the past six years , the Fisherman's Friend StrongmanRun has involved a total of approximately 56,000 participants, with a peak of 7500 enrolments in the three stages of 2016 76% of which men and 24% women, from 40 different countries and 19 Italian regions. The first stage in 2017, held last May in Bibione, registered over 2000 participants. These are promising numbers for the next Strongman adventure that introduces a completely different route from that of last year and many new obstacles, including the passage in the river Adige, all perfectly designed so that in 2017 this race can prove once again to be the not-to-be- missed, adrenaline appointment for those who want put themselves to the test beyond racing.
