Grivel and HDry announce a collaboration in developing technical mountain gloves. The iconic ‘Guida’ model from the Val d'Aosta-based brand will be equipped with HDry's waterproof and breathable technology starting in 2025. Thanks to HDry's patented 3D lamination process, the membrane is directly laminated onto the glove's outer shell. This eliminates any space between the outer layer and membrane, preventing water from entering and soaking the glove. As a result, it guarantees superior thermal insulation and a more precise fit, offering greater dexterity when handling ropes and tools.

Oliviero Gobbi, CEO of Grivel, commented: "We decided to adopt HDry after an intense testing program carried out with our ambassadors/mountaineers. They were all impressed by the glove's features, especially in terms of water protection and improved dexterity. We believe that this first project will soon be followed by others for even more specific uses, such as ice climbing."

“We are thrilled about this partnership with Grivel,” said Matteo Morlacchi, founder and R&D Manager at HDry, “because the brand represents the essence of technical expertise in mountaineering. Athletes and professionals who use Grivel equipment are always looking for further margins of improvement. I believe they will be satisfied with our technology, which finally allows extended glove use even in extreme conditions, while allowing higher haptic.”

HDry was born in 2018 from the founders of OutDry, taking up the same innovative philosophy and continuing its technological development.

The HDry construction, thanks to the patented direct 3D lamination process, moves the waterproof barrier to the outermost layer to prevent any water ingress and penetration.

No water penetration also means greater lightness and more breathability, important advantages in intensive outdoor or mountaineering use.
