Kalymnos Climbing Holidays - August

Kalymnos is widely considered a sport climber´s paradise, a world class rock climbing destination!

The island has some of the finest limestone crags in the world offering a huge range of climbing (more than 2000 routes) in a relaxed holidays atmosphere with the warm Aegean sea nearby and the amazing hospitality and cuisine of the locals... It's the ideal location to start rock climbing!

The Kalymnos "Rock Climbing Camp - Beginners" is 5 guided and instructed climbing days in the most beautiful routes of the island.

Under the supervision of your qualified, experienced and passionate (!) climbing instructor, you will develop your outdoor rock climbing skills:

- All techniques for single pitch sport climbing
- Understanding of outdoor risks
- Safe belaying
- Top-rope climb / intro to lead climbing
- Basic safety skills
- Coaching and training to progress in your level.

This course is ideal for indoor climbers or anyone with aspiration for outdoor rock climbing and nice holidays between rock and sea!

No experience required.

Program

The program of the climbing camp is tailored to your requirements. The low ratio instructor-climber allows a personalized program to improve your climbing skills according to your experience.

Here is an example of a climbing camp program (can be modified according to the weather and the level of participants):

Day 1: Arrival at Kos or Kalymnos Airport

Day 2: Climb next to Grande Grota, the symbol of rock-climbing in Kalymnos! Safety and climbing evaluation, balance & footwork, your first steps on stalactites.

Day 3: Poets/Kalydna - Learn and train efficient climbing techniques and skills, enjoy climbing with view on Telendos!

Day 4: Telendos island - Practice your climbing skills and enjoy climbing above the sea!

Day 5: Rest day. Possibilities of kayak, bicycle, scuba diving, beach...

Day 6: Arginonta: climb on the red rock of Arginonta with the blue/turquoise sea. Train specific skills to improve your climbing, build your confidence and enjoy superb and colourful climbing routes!

Day 7: Rock-climbing in Kastri, castle ruins. You will keep training and enjoying the high quality rock of Kalymnos in a historical site!
