American climber Jonathan Siegrist recently completed his annual extended trip to Switzerland during which - despite the extremely poor weather - he redpointed a staggering number of hard sport climbs. The highlight includes the first ascent of Hyper Finale, an open project from Bertrand Martenet at Rawyl.

Siegrist, who has previously redpointed two 9a+ - La Rambla at Siurana in Spain in 2015 and Biographie at Ceuse in 2014 - explained "Martenet is a super nice guy and prolific bolter from Valais. He offered the project to me when he saw I was running out of stuff to do in Rawyl. Hyper Finale has a super hard boulder problem on quite bad crimps near the 5th bolt, right afterward a powerful jump. I fell in this boulder problem many times... actually the first time I made it through is the time I sent. At mid-height there is another very, very thin boulder just a few moves long and the finish is the same finishing crux as Cabane au Canada."
