Programme of Skitouring, Iceclimbing and Freeriding, for January and February 2012

Skitouring

  • 5. - 8.1., 26. - 29.1., 16. - 19.2.: Skitouring for beginners. Two ski tours in the near of Kals, with about 600 to 900 ascending metres. Bring your skiing tecnique to perfection. One day of avalanche safety - „Avalanche Workshop“. Max. number of participants per guide: 8, lending of safety – equipment inclusive, from 120 Euro.

  • 14. - 21.1, 4. - 11.2., 18. - 25.2.: „A silent trace into the nature“, is the theme of our week for advanced skitouring in Eastern Tirol. Ski tours in Kals, in the valley of Defereggen and Villgraten and also in the Dolomites of Lienz, up to 1200 metres of ascension. You will enter into a wild region with an incredible feeling of the Alpine winter. Ski down perfect slops with guaranteed snow – you won't be disappointed! Max. number of participants per guide: 5, lending of safety – equipment inclusive (if necessary also crampons), from 300 Euro.

  • The whole winter long, you can book advanced and expert skitours, also with the ascension of the Grossglockner in one day!


Ice climbing

  • 12. - 15.1., 16. - 19.2.: Ice climbing step by step. Kals offers a lot of iceclimbing possibilities for beginners. On the one hand we will concetrate on climbing tecnique and on the other hand will learn how to climb on ice falls in safety. Surely we can borrow  the necessary climbing equipment. Number of participants per guide: 4, 280 Euro/per person.

  • 28.1. - 4.2., 11.2. - 18.2.: The best iceclimbs in the Upper Tauern. Starting in Kals, we can reach tens of iceclimbs for advaced and expert climbers (WI 4 – WI6), within only one hour of driving. We have the possiliblity to move through the Felbertauern to the northside of the Alps, so we can guarantee best ice conditions from December to March! Max. number of participants per guide: 2, lending of climbing equipment inclusive, from 750 Euro.


Freeride



 

  • 19. - 22.1., 16. - 19.2.: From skiing on piste to freeriding in the backcountry. We will refresh your skiing tecnique on the piste and advance step by step to the concept of Freeriding in the backcountry. With an „Avalanche-workshop“ we will learn how to prevent and how to react in case of avalanche. Max. number of participants per guide: 8, lending of safety – equipment inclusive, from 120 Euro.

  • 4.2. - 11.2., 25.2. - 3.3.: Freeride Camp Upper Tauern. Our „basecamp“ will be Kals. We will use the lifts above Kals (Grossglocknerresort) and also the other skiing areas of the southern Upper Tauern, to reach untouched powder slopes. If there hasn't be new snow for one or two weeks – don't worry! We can reach places for excellent runs, with hikes of 100-200 metres from the lifts! Max. number of participants per guide: 6, lending of safety – equipment inclusive (if necessary also crampons), from 225 Euro.
