At the start of December Italian alpinist Ermanno Salvaterra told us about his latest travels to Patagonia, together with Tomas Franchini, Paolo Grisa and Francesco Salvaterra, to attempt a sort of "Magic Line" up the centre of the West Face of Torre Egger. For 11 days the four endured high winds, biting cold and the technical difficulties to then abandon their attempt high up the face. They will certainly return, the dream is alive and kicking and fueled by these great images taken by Salvaterra.
