70 athletes from 20 different countries took part in the adidas Rockstars bouldering competition that was won last night in Stuttgart's Porsche Arena by Japan's Akiyo Noguchi and Canada's Sean McColl.

After Friday's qualifiers and the Semifinal on Saturday morning, McColl competed in the intense and selective final along with James Kassay (AUS), Rei Sugimoto (JPN), Jernej Kruder (SLO), Jongwon Chon (KOR) and Rustam Gelmanov (RUS). In the end McColl qualified for the Superfinal along with the surprise of the competition, 18-year old Jongwon Chon from Korea. The two then battled it out on the superfinal problem, a parrelle, identical boulder on which the two climed simultaneously. So simultaneaously that McColl, despite slipping, hit the buzzer only milliseconds before the Korean.

In the women's event, Noguchi qualified for the final along with Mina Markovic (SLO), Petra Klingler (SUI), Shauna Coxsey (GBR), Melissa Le Neve (FRA) and Mathilde Becerra (FRA) and then, in the Superfinal against Markovic, managed to pull away right from the outset and hit the buzzer first.
