Ever since making her senior debut aged a mere 16 and immediately winning silver at the European Championship in Chamonix in 2015, Janja Garnbret has been hailed as one of, if not the, best competition climbers of all times. Reel Rock analyses the climber more than anyone else described as the GOAT, the Greatest of All Time, and after winning six World Championship titles, the historic double (Boulder + Lead World Champion in 2019), eight overall wins and 30 World Cup victories, it’s hard to argue the opposite. Especially considering the fact that just two days ago at Tokyo 2020 she became the first woman in the world to win sport climbing’s gold medal at the Olympic Games.
