Maja Vidmar may have bid farewell to climbing competitions at the start of this year, but she certainly hasn’t retired from climbing altogether. On the contrary, as her recent hard redpoint of Privid at Bohinjska Bela shows. Set in a lush forest close to the picturesque lake Bled, this route is a technical crimpfest freed by Klemen Bečan in 2007 and repeated by Matej Sova and Domen Škofic in 2009, Gašper Pintar in 2013 and Klemen Kejžar earlier this year.

Privid is Vidmar’s second 8c+, after having climbed Attila lunga at the Baratro crag close to Trieste in Italy in 2009.
